This album is probably one of the most awesome odes to Viking-era Bathory I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. Ereb Altor is a Swedish outfit that obviously worships Quorthon, and do a very, very good job of it. Make no mistake, however - this is doom metal, and the overall pace of the album is rather ponderous, which works very well for the music. Monolithic riffs and epic vocals are the name of the game here, and this is a heavy, majestic, beautiful album that Mr. Forsberg himself would no doubt be proud of.
For fans of Bathory, Candlemass, Isole, and Morrigan.
