Genre: Heavy Metal
Alright, alright, I know everyone has heard this, but just in case one of you hasn't gotten around to checking out this classic, here's your chance to redeem yourself. There's really nothing I can say that hasn't already been said - the atmosphere is dark and epic, the riffs completely rule, the album as a whole was ahead of its time, and of course Mr. Diamond's vocals are, as always, the most memorable feature of the music (that's not to say the guitar work isn't incredibly awesome, because it totally is, but let's be honest... the King's voice is simply impossible to ignore). Everything about this album is genius, and it definitely deserves the classic status it enjoys. I suppose I'm really posting this for posterity's sake, because a metal blog without Mercyful Fate is like... well, a metal blog without Mercyful Fate, which is generally unacceptable.
