This is an album that never fails to wow me, but it is incredibly difficult to summarize for some reason. It's just hard to put into words what this band was doing, I suppose, so I will keep this short. Rebellion is the Art of Survival is rife with genuinely awesome riffs, tasteful keyboards, cool as hell vocals, long, interesting songs - these guys had it all. The music is very unique, and Night Conquers Day really managed to create an atmosphere all their own, topping it all off with a very epic, mysterious feeling. At times thrashy, at times melodic, at times grim, but always gripping, Rebellion is the Art of Survival is definitely a lost gem of American black metal, and I highly, highly recommend it.
